EVENING CHORE LIST
· Clean out Moose’s stall (all piles) and aisle in barn. Use metal garbage
can in hay room to transport manure to pile outside barn. Add sawdust (bales in
hay room) as needed. Don’t add more than
one bale sawdust per week.
· Fill water tank (empty and refill when dirty). Don’t overflow!
· Set up Moose’s stall with grain (3 metal scoops pellets from large
garbage can in hay room/1 metal scoop pellets from blue tupperware container in
hay room), hay (3 sections) one section in rack and 2 sections in blue large
bucket on floor under rack, empty and refill his water bucket (if ice, take
outside and gently thunk bucket on wall to break up ice) When stall is set up,
lead Moose inside stall, TAKE OFF HIS HALTER and hang up on hook
outside stall. Lock stall gate.
· Set up hay for other horses in both hay racks (wherever they are located
– may be behind barn) and black rubber tank (1 bale hay split between three spots) Use
sled to haul hay around to back of barn if hay rack and/or black rubber tank
are located there…
· Give cats food in two containers in hay room.
· Open gate so other horses can come to barn/get water.
· ALWAYS MAKE SURE HAY ROOM DOOR IS LATCHED SHUT. IF HORSES CAN GET IN THEY WILL EAT ALL GRAIN,
GET SICK, AND POSSIBLY DIE OF COLIC….
· If Kim is out of town, give each dog one can wet dog food in their bowls.
Fill their water bowl if needed.

AM CHORE LIST
· Lead horses (except Moose) to back of barn and close/latch gate so that
they cannot access barn/front corral. There should be hay there from night time
chore person.
· Then put Moose’s halter back on and let him out of his stall. Latch his stall gate shut so he can’t access
during the day. Make sure there are at
least 2 sections of hay in a feeder he can eat.
· If Kim is out of town, give 1 pitcher dry dog food (split between 2
bowls) to dogs, fill their water if needed.
LOOK AT DRY ERASE BOARD TO SEE IF
ANYTHING HAS BEEN CHANGED FOR CHORES.
AFTER MOOSE HAS BEEN MERGED SAFELY
INTO HERD (all horses will be together), YOU WILL DO THE FOLLOWING:
· Put small amount of grain (by lower level back door of house) into each
pink container (4), put on middle fence rail near each chain and quickly chain
each horse up. Then set up Moose’s stall and do other chores as normal. After
Moose is in his stall, unclip other horses.
Hay racks will now all be in front corral instead of some being in the back
of barn/riding ring area.
